A few other miscellaneous props will be for sale as well. Get there early and get your piece of The Panther Band History!
Hot Dog Howdy is nearly upon us as we prepare for a new band year! It’s an exciting time to see the students’ progress and to hear the new show. To make Hot Dog Howdy a rousing success, the Band Boosters need help from many parents. While we would love to have everyone volunteer (but then who would be able to watch the show?), we’re also asking people to bring donations. Specifically, we need hot dogs, hot dog buns, canned soda, individual packages of chips, and bottled water. It’s as easy as purchasing the items and sending them to band camp with your student, where he or she can drop them off at Porch Café. If you can’t make it to the store, but would still like to make a donation, send a check (written out to the OHS Band Boosters) or cash in an envelope. All donations need to be received by Thursday, August 24th.
If you are interested in working at the event, we need volunteers from 4:30-6 pm to help set up and get the festivities moving, from 5:45-7:15, and from 7:15-8:45 to close things down. If you’re a freshman parent, sign up during the first shift so you’ll have time to watch the show. Go to our Sign Up Genius page (http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4caeab22a4f49-hotdog) to choose your time. I will also have sign ups available at Prep Days.

Charms accounts have been updated for the 2017-2018 school year. The following is information on how to login to the Charms system. We are asking all parents to login to Charms and update important information. If you are unable to login, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your student’s name, school ID number, parent’s name, and a phone number.
It is very important that parents have access to their Charms accounts, as it helps you stay up to date with your student’s financial account, check out band happenings with our exclusive Band Calendar, volunteer to chaperone, sign up for concessions, and more.

This year’s Panther Card will be available starting at Student Prep Days, August 15th and 16th. After that they will be available whenever merchandise is being sold, including, but not limited to Band Prep Days, Hot Dog Howdy, Panther Pride Picnic, and at all home football games. They will also be available at the monthly booster meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Panther Cards are a great individual fundraiser because for every card you buy/sell for $10, your child gets $8 Panther Band Buck credit that can be used towards Fair Share Fees, the Band Trip, or Banquet.

Just a reminder…..
Our kids have been preparing hard for fall band and it’s time for us too! The next Panther Band Booster meeting will be held Tuesday, August 8th at 7 pm in the band hall. We will be reviewing and approving the fall budget and discussing the following: summer audit findings, open chair positions, upcoming band activities.
Please come out and support our wonderful band.
