George Garza – Percussion Coordinator

Justin Janis – Percussion Instructor

Justin is in his second year working with the O’Connor HS percussion section. Justin is currently a senior music major at Texas State Universtiy in San Marcos TX. While at Texas State Justin was a member of the percussion section both on tenor drums and in the front ensemble. As a member of the marching percussion section Justin has marched at the PAS marching percussion festivals and was recently an instructor for the 2008 PAS TX State University marching percussion ensemble which finished 2nd place overall in 2008. Justin has performed with the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, Texas State University Wind Ensemble and has performed at TMEA with the Texas State Choral. Justin has studied percussion with Genaro Gonzalez, Kari Kleir, and John Lopez.

Marco Vidaurri – Percussion Instructor

Marco was a member of the 2005 O’Connor HS PASIC marching championship drumline. Marco marched on the snare line which also won best snare line. While in high school, Marco also competed in the all-region band competition and advanced to the all-area levels, was a section leader and captain of the marching percussion section, and competed in 2 PAS HS individual snare competitions. After graduation Marco went on to Texas State University and marched on the snare line in the Texas State University Drumline. Marco continues to study music and also teach percussion private lessons. Marco has studied percussion with George Garza(OHS), Micah Hardwich(SVC), Kari Klier(Texas State Univ.),  Jamie Alvarez-Calderon(Crossmen)

Manuel Prince – Percussion Instructor

Manuel was a member of the 2005 O’Connor HS PASIC marching championship drumline. Manuel marched with and was also section leader of the bass line which also won best line at PAS in 2005. After graduation Manuel went on to pursue a music degree from Texas State University where he continues to study music as a music major. Manuel is a member of the Texas State University Drumline and has competed at 2 PAS marching festivals with TX State University. Manuel has also been a member of the open class champion Austin Independent winter drumline . Manuel is now currently a member of  Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Some of Manuel’s instructors include George Garza(OHS), Bret Kuhn(former Caviliers caption head, Bluecoats), Jamie Alvarez Calderon(Crossmen), Jim Casella(Cavaliers), Kari Kleir(TX State University) and Mike Stevens. .
